Wind Ensemble is a select ensemble playing Virginia grade 5 - 6 music.
Participation in Wind Ensemble is by audition only.
The Wind Ensemble and Percussion II classes
will be recreating the original 1938 broadcast of The War of the Worlds in a
live old-time-radio presentation in the Powhatan HS commons on Tuesday, October
24, 2006. The buffet dinner will be created by the outstanding Culinary Arts
department. Dinner is at 6:pm and the performance starts at 7:pm.
Tickets are $10 and will go on sale soon. Check back here for more details, and

updates and announcements.
In December, the Wind Ensemble will participate in the
PHS Band & Chorus Winter Spectacular event (Tues, Dec 12. 7:30 @ PHS).
This is a must-see seasonal affair filled with modern presentations of timeless
classics. It's more than a concert, so be sure to come. All concerts
at Powhatan are free, so we'll see you there.
